Biographical Info

Maureen McCarty received a degree in violin performance, and a teaching certificate, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She has played in various orchestras, including the Orquestra Ciutat de Barcelona (Barcelona City Orchestra) and the Orquesta Filharmónica de Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands, the Madison Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, as well as other orchestras in five midwestern states.  Maureen taught strings and general music in the Monona Grove school districts until her recent retirement.  She has also coached WYSO chamber ensembles. Currently Maureen has a large private studio of violin and viola students, and tutors Spanish. She has been a member of the Camerata String Quartet since 2001.
